| Jinn / Jinni |
The anglicised word for the Arabic "jinni" is
genie. In both pre-Islamic Arabian mythology and in Islam itself, a jinni (also "djinni" or "djini") is a member of the jinn (or "djinn"),
a powerful race of spirits, created beings made from smokeless fire who can use their powers for good or evil. They can see us, but we
cannot see them. They are basically a parallel creation to humans in that they are born, have children and die. |
| Jupiter |
One of the brightest objects in the night sky, Jupiter, with
its many satellites, is the largest planet in the solar system and the 5th from the sun. In Roman mythology he was the supreme god, the
counterpart of Zeus in Greek mythology. Jupiter is associated with the properties of expansion and
accumulation, its associated metal being tin.
Astrologically, Jupiter is the ruler of
Sagittarius and the ninth house. |
